Well, wedding season is just around the corner! I'm so excited to get outside and shoot again! I'm sure a lot of it is this amazing weather we're experiencing! For all of you thinking it's time to update family pictures or are wanting to capture an important milestone in your life...feel free to contact me about scheduling a portrait session! Something I'm even guilty of (and I'm a photographer...yikes) is letting way too much time pass without documenting our lives! I wanted to quickly thank all my 2009 clients for making last year so great! It was a bit of a crazy year balancing pregnancy/a new baby and the biz, but you all made it so much easier for me:) Thanks for all your patience and being willing to have a huge blimp at your wedding...haha. I know I say this all the time, but I feel truly blessed to have worked with so many great couples! You guys are the BEST!!!
As wonderful as 2009 was...I'm super excited about this new year! I know I had mentioned a few posts back that I will be launching a new blog and updated site. STILL working on that, but I can't wait to show you my new look:) I'm also really looking forward to all the amazing wedding's I'll be shooting this year!!! Yay! I'll leave you with a few pictures of my little sidekick! Molly is already 3 and a half months old! I just adore her:)

I wanted to update all my wonderful blog followers about my life! Most of you probably know...but I'm expecting my first baby! She (who still does not have a name) is due this Sunday on the 27th. I am SOOOO ready to meet this little girl and can barely wait any longer!!! I have to thank all my 2009 clients for being so understanding and wonderful throughout this pregnancy! As many other photographers understand...pregnancy and shooting weddings don't really go together:) So again, I can't thank all my clients enough!
It's exciting to think that my next post will be pictures of our new little baby. We feel so blessed for this gift God has given to us! Stay tuned!!!

I have to say that I was a bit concerned with shooting JD and Melissa's wedding at 9 months pregnant! But they couldn't have made it an easier day for me and I am so glad that I was able to be their photographer!! So I've actually had this logo for MONTHS now, but have be trying to get everything else (new blog, website, etc.) put together. I can't stand it anymore...I'm so excited about it so I thought I'd give everyone a sneak peek:) I think it's definitely time for Shelly Valentine Photography to have a fresh new look! I had such a great time getting to know Tim and Angie at their engagement session! That's definitely what I look forward to the most when I shoot the engagement pictures! Brian and I were watching Blake and Layla a few weekends ago. When I was feeding Blake his dinner, I remembered that a year ago I took a picture of him sitting there. I don't even know what to say about this wedding...it was INCREDIBLE!!! The amazing Jessica Strickland gave me the opportunity to second shoot this wedding with her...I definitely jumped at the chance!! Manasa and Avinash are more than wonderful! They are such an easy going and fun couple! It was such a privilege to shoot their special day. Megan King also photographed the wedding with us. Extreme Makeover Home Edition

I was so thrilled when I got the opportunity to volunteer as a photographer for Extreme Makeover Home Edition! It was incredible to see what great things happen when people come together and serve their community! I was so impressed with how Extreme Makeover not only builds a new beautiful home, but also does a lot of work in the rest of the neighborhood. Volunteers painted houses, fixed roofs, planted trees, and cleaned up the area.

I arrived at 6 am...brrrr! It was very cold and windy. As you can see there wasn't anyone outside...at this point they were painting the inside of the house and library.

I got in a little trouble for taking this picture...I didn't know that I wasn't allowed to shoot through the windows. Ooops!

This is how they generated a lot of the electricity!

Because it had rained so much the night before, the whole area was a huge mud puddle! Workers had to take their shoes off.

Estridge is the builder for this project. They have done an incredible job! It's about 8 am in this shot...finally people started to arrive for me to take pictures of!

Besides the inside of the house, they just had landscaping left to do.

Here you can see volunteers getting served breakfast.

I was so glad Brian came along with me...I know he enjoyed the whole experience too!

Wow...I can't believe we made it to three years! KIDDING! I am so blessed to have such an incredible husband! I don't know what I would do without his love, support, and encouragement everyday. He has made me such a better person...there's no doubt about that! My favorite thing about us is that we laugh A LOT together! I absolutely love Adam and Natalia! They are such a sweet couple! They had a beautiful ceremony at SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral and finished the day off with their reception at the Conrad. They are now in Indonesia to celebrate their new marriage with Natalia's family. Congratulations you two!

I wanted to make sure I got this last picture, because it's my favorite picture I took when they had Blake.

Layla Michel was born yesterday morning around 10 am. She weighs 7 lbs 14 oz and is 20 inches long. Becky is doing very well after her c-section, please keep her in your prayers as she continues to heal! We thank God for little baby Layla! I'm so excited to watch her grow! Congratulations Eric, Becky, and Blake!

It was SUPER hot out, so I tried to keep everyone in the shade or inside. I was very happy with how the pictures under the overpass turned out!

Lacey had plenty of help getting ready! I love when bridesmaids really go overboard in making sure the bride has the best day ever...these girls did!

I told the girls that this picture was for Vogue! They worked it out! Also...I have to say that these are my most favorite bridesmaid dresses I've ever seen! These you could definitely wear again!

Matt and Lacey had their wedding at the Mavris. They planned their wedding in THREE MONTHS! And did an amazing job! It was a perfect day! Lacey and Matt are so much fun. They are very easy going and are always laughing!!! I enjoyed being their photographer SO MUCH! My husband, Brian, was also able to second shoot with me and he did a great job!
Matt will be serving in Iraq in the near future. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers! Thanks again for letting me be apart of such an important day! Congratulations!!

It's been a WHIRLWIND since I've been back from the Bahamas! Sometimes you wonder when life is going to slow down?!? I've been struggling to find time at my computer to get work done due to a seminar in Chicago, a funeral in Michigan, and family visiting from Colorado! It's been a crazy busy summer with all these weddings, but I am TRULY GRATEFUL for ALL my amazing clients and they have made it SO WORTH IT!!! I really do have the BEST CLIENTS EVER!!! So thank you guys! I'm also so excited that my little niece is going to be here any day now! I can't wait to photograph her and share those pictures with all of you! Thanks again for all your patients and for being so dang WONDERFUL!!!!

Second Presbyterian Church was a beautiful location for Chris and Natalie's wedding.

I was IN LOVE with Natalie's dress! I thought it was neat how they changed some of the details on the dress to fit their feather theme.

Jason and Amanda had such a fun wedding! I really enjoyed spending time with them and their wedding party. They both attended U of M and you can see how they incorporated their love (obsession) for that place through out their entire wedding! I actually went to high school with Amanda and her mom was one of my teachers, so it was fun to know some of the guest.

Seriously! Could the be any better looking?!?

This evening Eric, Becky, Blake, and I ran out to a field by my house to snap a few family pictures. They are expecting their second baby in just a few weeks!!! Blake is now 15 months old and he is just the sweetest little guy! I will post more of the pictures in a week or so (once I get caught up from being gone!), but I saw these four when I was looking through all of them and decided to make a quick post. I have a million more favorites so stay tuned!

We had the BEST time! The Atlantis was such an amazing resort...lots and lots to do and plenty of sun! Some of the highlights...hanging out with the dolphins...eating at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill...tons of water slides and a not so lazy river...laying by the pool with a mojito...swimming in the ocean...three card poker...and spending time with Brian and friends!!! I decided NOT to post bathing suite pics...haha! I'm so proud of Brian and all of his accomplishments! He has worked so hard this past year and really earned this trip! Thanks babe!

I wanted to let you all know that I will be out of the office until August 15th. My super hard working hubby has once again made it to his company's awards trip! Jenny is SO sweet and fun! I adored her personality!

Despite all the rain that day, Adam and Jenny still did the ceremony outdoors. It was beautiful!

The shot above is one of my favorites! During the prayer, I loved how Eric was looking at Jenny...it was SO SWEET!

The wedding was in Angola, IN at the Potawatomi Inn. It was a beautiful location right on Lake James.

Towards the end of the night, one of the groomsmen asked me if he could take some pictures with my camera. I think he was surprised when I handed over my camera! He got some really fun shots!

MAN they're a GORGEOUS couple!!!

I couldn't get over how blue Sarah's eyes are!

Since Scott and Sarah share such a love for golf, I had fun incorporating that into their pictures!

I loved their wedding party...everyone was SO much fun and very friendly!

I've been fortunate to have GREAT assistants this summer...Aubrey had a lot of nice detail pictures! The cake pic is hers.

Scott and Sarah were married at Plum Creek Golf Course, a place where they spend a lot of their time! Both Scott and Sarah LOVE golf...and after seeing the tournament bracket hanging on the wall at the club house, I could see that Sarah must be pretty good!
I have to thank Scott and Sarah for letting me drag them around outside for pictures...it was SO HOT and HUMID out that day! They were troopers!
